"I wanted to be him as a child": Palmer chooses between Messi and Ronaldo

Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer has expressed his preference between Inter Miami's and Argentina's Lionel Messi and Al Nassr's and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Messi or Ronaldo? For me, it's Lionel Messi. [I choose him because of] the way he plays, everything he's won, all the individual trophies... just the best player ever. As a child, I wanted to be Messi. Messi's clear for me, but obviously Ronaldo's one of the greatest players ever as well," Palmer stated in an interview with Goal.

Cole Palmer joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023. This season, the 22-year-old midfielder has scored six goals and provided five assists in nine matches across all competitions. The Blues midfielder was also named the Premier League Player of the Month for September.

Palmer's contract with the London club extends until the summer of 2033.
