Iniesta to Announce Retirement from Professional Football on October 8

Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta is set to announce his retirement from professional football on October 8, according to Relevo.

Iniesta is best known for his remarkable tenure at FC Barcelona from 2002 to 2018. During his time at the Spanish club, he won numerous accolades, including two UEFA European Championships and a FIFA World Cup with Spain, three UEFA Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, five La Liga championships, two Copa del Rey trophies, five Spanish Super Cups, and two FIFA Club World Cups – a total of 19 trophies with Barcelona.

Since July 1, Iniesta has been in the status of a free agent after his contract with UAE's Emirates expired. From 2018 to 2023, he also played for Vissel Kobe in Japan.
