Lille coach on victory over Real Madrid: "An incredible performance by players and staff"

Lille's head coach Bruno Genesio shared his thoughts following the 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the second group stage match of the Champions League.

"This is why we do this job—we share powerful emotions with our fans, with each other, with families, and everyone working at the club. This is what makes our sport so wonderful. These moments will stay with us forever. For me, the most important thing was what we felt when we scored the goal. It was the moment when the players could share their joy with the fans.

I am proud of how thoroughly we prepared for the game with my staff, and how my players executed the plan. It was an incredible performance by everyone—both the players and the staff. It is a great reward for the club, the fans, and everyone involved in the process," Genesio told UEFA's website.

Real Madrid, with three points, is in 23rd place in the table, while Lille sits in 15th place with three points.
