Liverpool beat Chelsea to go top of Premier League table

20 October 2024 18:38

Liverpool secured a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in their Premier League (EPL) match during the 8th round of the season.

Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 29th minute, followed by Curtis Jones' goal in the 51st minute. Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson found the net in the 48th minute, but it wasn't enough to salvage a result for the London side.

With this win, Liverpool climbed to the top of the EPL standings with 21 points. Chelsea currently sits in sixth place with 14 points.

In the next round on October 27, Liverpool will face Arsenal, while Chelsea will play against Newcastle.
