Malkin Matches Ovechkin's NHL Record
In the early hours of October 15 (MSK), a regular season NHL match took place between the Montreal Canadiens and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The game concluded with the Rangers claiming victory by a scoreline of 6-3.
Evgeni Malkin made a notable contribution for the Penguins, scoring one goal and providing two assists. The Russian forward has now recorded points in three consecutive games, previously accumulating two assists in matches against the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
As a result, Malkin joins Alexander Ovechkin (who has also recorded points in four matches during the 2023/24 season) as only the second active player aged 38 or older to achieve multiple points in three consecutive games.
