Mallorca expresses zero tolerance for any form of racism
RCD Mallorca has responded to the sentencing of their supporters for racially abusing footballers Vinícius Júnior, Samuel Chukwueze, and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
"Mallorca reiterates its absolute zero tolerance for any form of racism or disrespect. The club is actively working with the relevant authorities to eradicate this problem. In both racist incidents, the club acted as a private prosecutor. These unacceptable actions are isolated events and do not reflect the values of our supporters or the team," the club's statement read.
A Mallorca fan received a one-year suspended sentence for racially insulting Vinícius Júnior and Samuel Chukwueze. Another, a minor, was banned from attending stadiums for a year for racism towards Aurélien Tchouaméni. The fan admitted guilt in court and issued an apology.
