Martinelli could miss Peru clash due to injury
Arsenal and Brazil forward Gabriel Martinelli may be sidelined for the match against Peru due to an injury.
According to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), the 23-year-old winger has developed swelling in his right calf muscle. Earlier today, Martinelli trained with tape on the injured leg. His participation in the upcoming World Cup 2026 qualifier remains uncertain.
Brazil is scheduled to host Peru on October 16. Dorival Junior’s team currently sits in fourth place in the qualifying standings, having amassed 13 points from nine matches.
Gabriel Martinelli has been with Arsenal since 2019. This season, the winger has scored two goals and provided two assists in ten appearances for the Gunners across all competitions.
