Matthäus on Bayern's results: "A 1-4 loss to Barça won’t happen again"
Former Bayern Munich midfielder Lothar Matthäus shared his thoughts on the club’s Champions League performances.
“It’s understandable that after two months with a new coach and system, not everything is working perfectly. After the defeat to Barcelona, Kompany showed the team what went wrong and what needs improvement. Perhaps the two league draws and the Champions League loss will help them correct mistakes and serve them well in the knockout rounds.
I’m convinced that something like the 1-4 against Barça won’t happen again. And I fully expect them to beat Benfica on Wednesday. They’re playing at home, and their opponent is theoretically weaker than Barcelona and Aston Villa. I’m not worried about Bayern,” Matthäus wrote in his column for Sky Sport.
After three rounds in the Champions League group stage, Bayern sits 23rd in the table with three points.
