Messi has surpassed Beckham's career record for free-kick goals

Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi scored his 66th career direct free-kick goal. The Argentine reached this milestone on October 3 during an MLS match against Columbus Crew, which ended with a score of 3-2.

With this achievement, Messi surpassed the record of former England international, Real Madrid, and Manchester United midfielder David Beckham, who scored 65 goals from free-kicks. It is worth noting that Beckham is an owner of Inter Miami.

The all-time record holder is Juninho Pernambucano, with 77 free-kick goals.
