Nagelsmann: "Germany Aiming to Win the 2026 World Cup"
Germany national football team head coach Julian Nagelsmann has declared that the team is aiming to win the World Cup in 2026.
"We want to become world champions. For all the critics and experts: ‘want to,’ not ‘will.’ There’s a big difference. We want to do everything we can to achieve this goal, and I am confident that we can succeed. We won’t be making many changes because the squad is very harmonious. There’s no benefit in building a team for the Nations League victory only for its players to be 35-36 years old by the 2026 World Cup. Another team would end up playing in the World Cup instead. We’ve made it clear to the players that every minute counts; this is a crucial part of our plan," Nagelsmann stated at the Digital X conference.
Germany last won the World Cup in 2014.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held across three countries for the first time, hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
