Newcastle Defender Trippier Could Continue Career in Turkey

Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier may soon transfer from the English club to one of the teams in the Turkish Super Lig.

According to Sky Sports, Istanbul Başakşehir, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, and Eyüpspor are all interested in acquiring Trippier.

The 33-year-old Englishman joined Newcastle from Atletico Madrid in January 2022. This season, the defender has made three appearances for the Magpies without contributing to the scoreline. Trippier's contract with the English club runs until the summer of 2026. Transfermarkt values the player at €10 million.

The transfer window in Turkey closes on September 13.

On August 29, Trippier announced his retirement from international duty with the England national team.
