Newcastle United have reached an agreement to sign 17-year-old forward Vakhtang Salia from FC Dinamo Tbilisi and the Georgia U19 national team. This was reported by journalist Ekrem Konur on social media.
The English club is set to formalize the contract with the player as soon as he turns 18. In the race to secure Salia's signature, the Magpies have outpaced notable rivals including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund.
Salia has made 32 appearances in senior club football, scoring four goals and providing two assists. The player has already been dubbed the "new Khvicha Kvaratskhelia" within the football community.
