Premier League Club Fined Over €895,000 for Criticism of Refereeing on Social Media
The Football Association (FA) has fined Nottingham Forest over €895,000 for publicly criticizing refereeing decisions on social media.
"Nottingham Forest has been fined £750,000 and issued a warning for misconduct due to comments posted on social media following their Premier League match against Everton on April 21," the FA's statement read.
The match was officiated by a team led by referee Anthony Taylor. After the game, Nottingham Forest took to social media to accuse the referees of failing to award three penalties and claimed that the VAR team showed bias in favor of their opponents.
Currently, Nottingham Forest is 10th in the Premier League standings with 10 points from seven matches.
