Ramos poised for potential move to Argentine club

Former Real Madrid and Spain defender Sergio Ramos might be set to continue his career in Argentina.

According to Relevo, Boca Juniors have expressed interest in signing the 38-year-old Spaniard. Club president Juan Roman Riquelme and head coach Fernando Gago, who previously played alongside Ramos at Real Madrid, are seeking to persuade the defender to join their ranks and spearhead the project alongside striker Edinson Cavani. Should the deal materialise, Ramos could earn around €5 million per year with the Buenos Aires outfit. The Spaniard is considering the possibility of signing with Boca Juniors towards the end of December, coinciding with the conclusion of the current Argentine league season.

Ramos' latest club was Sevilla, where he played from September 2023. In the previous season, the defender scored seven goals and provided an assist over 37 appearances for the Andalusian side. His contract with the Spanish club expired last summer, and he has since been a free agent.
