Real Madrid Defender Alaba May Retire Due to Joint Cartilage Thinning
David Alaba, defender for Real Madrid and the Austrian national team, may be forced to retire at the age of 32.
Spanish media reports indicate that the deterioration of cartilage in his knee is causing bone friction and significant pain, even during regular walking. It has also been noted that the Austrian footballer is unable to cope with intensive training sessions. Previously, it was announced that Alaba would not participate in matches in 2024.
Alaba has previously suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his knee and is currently in the recovery phase.
