Real Madrid secures comeback victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League courtesy of Vinicius hat-trick

Real Madrid achieved a remarkable 5-2 win against Borussia Dortmund in the third round of the Champions League group stage. The match took place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid.

For Dortmund, goals were scored by Donyell Malen (30th minute) and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (34'). The comeback from Real Madrid was powered by goals from Antonio Rüdiger (60') and Lucas Vázquez (83'), alongside a hat-trick by Vinicius Junior (63', 86', 90+3').

This was Borussia Dortmund's first defeat in the current Champions League campaign. Previously, Nuri Sahin's team registered emphatic victories against Celtic (7-1) and Club Brugge (3-0).

Real Madrid now has six points, lifting them to ninth place in the Champions League group stage standings. Borussia Dortmund, also with six points, has dropped to fifth place.

In the next round, Madrid will host AC Milan, while Dortmund will play at home against Sturm Graz. Both fixtures are scheduled for November 5.
