Rodri on winning the Ballon d'Or: "Football isn’t just about scoring goals"
Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri shared his thoughts on what his Ballon d'Or win means for young midfielders.
"It just shows them that football isn’t only about scoring goals. It might encourage kids to become more team-oriented players, without thinking they’ll be overshadowed or go unrecognized. Rodri became the third Spanish player in history to win the Ballon d'Or, following Alfredo Di Stefano (1957, 1959) and Luis Suárez Miramontes (1960). Last season, he won the Premier League and the Club World Cup with Manchester City and claimed the European Championship with the Spanish national team.
