Rooney names England's best player

8 October 2024 18:41

Former England striker Wayne Rooney has revealed who he believes is the national team’s best player.

“I think the best is Phil Foden. I know he hasn’t played much for City this season, but at his peak, he’s the best player in the England squad. Cole Palmer has been incredible since joining Chelsea, and you can’t overlook what Jude Bellingham is doing at Real Madrid, but in my opinion, Foden is the best,” Rooney said on talkSport.

This season, Phil Foden has played seven matches for Manchester City, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
