Slot confident Ten Hag will soon lead a major club
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has commented on the dismissal of Dutch coach Erik ten Hag from Manchester United.
The Manchester club announced on October 28 the departure of the 54-year-old manager.
«He is a Dutch manager so that makes it even harder for me, for us as Dutch people. Always your first thoughts are with the person. We are all in this job so we know that it can happen but if it happens... Especially because I know him a little bit and I know how much work he puts into it, and then to get this news for him is of course a pity. But we also know, especially us coming from Holland, how well he did at Ajax and that he won two trophies over here so we will see him I think in the near future at a big club again, but at this moment for him and his family it's of course... Tragedy is maybe a bit too much to say but it's a big disappointment», Slot told ESPN.
Erik ten Hag took charge of Manchester United in the summer of 2022. Under his leadership, the Red Devils won the FA Cup and the English League Cup. His contract with the club was set to run until the summer of 2026.
Ruben Amorim, whose departure was announced by Sporting Lisbon, will become the new head coach of Manchester United.
