Son on fixture schedule: "We are not Robots. The number of matches needs to be reduced."

Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has expressed his concerns over the congested fixture schedule this season.

"It really is a lot of games and travelling, so we need to take care of ourselves. Sometimes it can be difficult, and we are not always prepared both mentally and physically. When you take to the field in such a condition, the risk of injury increases significantly. We are not robots; the number of matches needs to be reduced to improve the quality of the game. I believe this should be our goal," Son told SkySports.

On September 20, Manchester City midfielder Rodri also raised the possibility of a players' strike due to the overloaded fixture schedule.
