Sporting Coach Amorim Agrees to Take Over Manchester United
Sporting CP head coach Rúben Amorim has expressed his willingness to lead Manchester United.
According to The Athletic, United are prepared to pay the Portuguese club €10 million to release Amorim from his contract early.
On 28 October, United announced the departure of Erik ten Hag as head coach, with former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy appointed as interim manager. Van Nistelrooy had been part of ten Hag’s coaching staff.
In the 2024/2025 Premier League season, Manchester United have so far accumulated only 11 points from nine matches, placing them 14th in the table.
