Tampa Bay Lightning thank Hurricane Milton responders with tickets
The Tampa Bay Lightning, a National Hockey League (NHL) club, has expressed gratitude to rescuers dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.
According to the Lightning's press office, several hundred tickets to the team's matches were gifted to emergency service workers as a gesture of thanks for their efforts. In addition, the club offered ticket discounts to all fans.
Hurricane Milton, a Category 5 storm, struck Florida in early October and became the second most powerful tropical cyclone ever recorded over the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the state's residents were evacuated due to the severe weather, prompting the NHL to proactively reschedule the Tampa Bay Lightning's game against the Carolina Hurricanes, originally set to take place in Florida on October 12. The team's players were evacuated along with their families.
The Tampa Bay Lightning currently hold sixth place in the NHL Eastern Conference standings, with two points. The Lightning will host the Vancouver Canucks for their next match on October 15.
