UFC Champion Reveals Reason for Withdrawing from Bout with Rakhmonov

UFC champion Belal Muhammad has confirmed the news that he will be unable to face Kazakh fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov at the UFC 310 event.

«I caught an infection that spread to my bone. They’ve put a catheter with antibiotics in me. Six weeks without physical activity. I’ll be back soon,» the athlete announced on social media.

Muhammad claimed the UFC title in the summer of 2024, defeating Leon Edwards by unanimous decision. The American fighter of Palestinian descent boasts a record of 24 wins and three losses in mixed martial arts.

Shavkat Rakhmonov has won all 18 of his career fights in mixed martial arts. The 29-year-old Kazakh last competed in December 2023, securing victory over Stephen Thompson with a chokehold.
