Wright Labels Haaland a Coward for Throwing Ball at Gabriel's Head

Former Arsenal footballer Ian Wright has criticised Manchester City forward Erling Haaland for his act of throwing the ball at Arsenal defender Gabriel’s head during an English Premier League (EPL) match.

"The only thing that really enraged me was Haaland’s cowardly act. Throwing the ball at Gabriel’s head when he had his back turned. When Gabi turned his back on him. It was the act of a true coward. You know Gabriel would have looked him in the face. That’s what angered me the most. I thought Haaland was above that," Wright told the BBC.

In the 98th minute of the EPL match between Manchester City and Arsenal during the 5th round, the score became level at 2-2. After John Stones' shot deflected into the Arsenal net, Haaland ran into the goal, grabbed the ball, and threw it at the back of Gabriel’s head while the defender had his back turned to the Norwegian.
