Their head-to-head meetings in Group G ended level. More precisely, each side won 2:0 at home. Had this been a knockout tie, extra time would have been required. 

Both clubs have won all their home matches, which is a good sign for Mirassol. Moreover, they have not conceded a goal in 270 minutes, unlike LDU Quito, who have conceded two. The hosts' drawback is that this is their first appearance in continental competition. Until recent seasons, the team from the outskirts of São Paulo had not even played in Série A. Looking at Mirassol's home matches after the World Cup break, they won both in the Brasileirão and drew in the domestic cup. However, the yellow-and-greens beat 14th-placed Grêmio and 19th-placed Remo. Grêmio were also their opponents in the cup. Rafael Guanaes' side themselves are 15th. However, it is clear that the club have prioritised the Copa Libertadores this season, so they will be dangerous. 

LDU Quito often make use of their home advantage — the altitude. Accustomed to the thin air, their players have won seven of nine matches since 2025 and conceded only in the most recent one. When they descend to lower ground, it becomes unfamiliar for them. Over the same period, they have managed only three wins from nine. Only the victory over São Paulo (1:0) stands out. The other two came against clearly weak Bolivian side Always Ready (1:0) — also at altitude — and Venezuelan side Deportivo Táchira (2:1). In all other matches, they failed to score even once. 

Mirassol's lack of international experience is offset by LDU Quito's unfamiliarity with low-altitude conditions. We may again see a clean-sheet win for the Brazilian side. A straightforward win is certainly worth backing.
