Hamilton Expresses Concern Over Motorsport’s Future and Young Drivers

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has voiced his concerns over the rising costs associated with motorsport for young drivers.

"It's insanely expensive. If I hadn't been signed by Mercedes and McLaren, I wouldn't be here today. It's definitely worrying that the costs keep increasing. Kids should continue their education and stay in school. Probably more than 99% of drivers don't make it to Formula 1—maybe the number is even higher. It would be great if they had other opportunities available," Hamilton told GPblog.

The 39-year-old Briton is a seven-time world champion and the first driver in Formula 1 history to achieve 100 wins. Hamilton previously raced for McLaren from 2007 to 2012, and he is set to join Ferrari for the 2025 season.
