Szczęsny on his role as Barcelona substitute: “I'm 100% ready, but the team is working well”

Barcelona's Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has spoken out about the fact that he has yet to make his debut for the team after making an emergency signing with the blue-granates.

‘No. Iñaki Peña has not given him any reason to leave him on the bench. We've talked a lot. I've already told the coach that I'm 100 per cent, but the team is working well. If it's not broken, don't touch it,’ he said on Eleven Sports, the Polish channel that has the broadcasting rights to LaLiga.

In early October, the Catalans signed Szczęsny, who ended his playing career last summer. “Barcelona” had to urgently look for a new goalkeeper after German Marc-Andre ter Stegen suffered a long-term injury.

This season, Peña has played seven games for the Catalans in all competitions and conceded six goals.
