Verstappen Protests FIA Fine for Swearing at Press Conference

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen staged a protest following a fine from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) for swearing during an official press conference ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.

According to De Telegraaf journalist Erik van Haren, who reported the incident on social media, Verstappen advised reporters not to ask him anything during the press conference and to speak with him outside instead.

At today's press conference, Verstappen's responses were brief and evasive.

Reporter: "What changes did you make to the car overnight?"

Verstappen: "A lot."

Reporter: "Can you elaborate?"

Verstappen: "No, I might get fined."

Reporter: "How did the race in Baku influence the changes?"

Verstappen: "I'd prefer you ask these questions outside the room."

Reporter: "Will you talk outside the room?"

Verstappen: [nods and gives a thumbs-up without verbal response]

Reporter: "How long will you avoid answering questions at FIA press conferences?"

Verstappen: "I am answering; I just have a problem with my voice," he said.

Previously, FIA stewards required the Dutchman to participate in community service due to his remarks about the RB20 car during a press conference. Verstappen told reporters that his car "was totally fucked."
