Verstappen urges Formula 1 to revise the race calendar

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has called on Formula 1 to revise its calendar.

“I’ve always said that there are too many races on our calendar. But what concerns me more is the time zone changes. Flying from Vegas to Qatar means you're traveling to the other side of the world, and I think this could be better planned.

If we're going to have triple headers, the races should be closer to each other. That would make more sense. We need to pay attention to this. If you're going to host so many races, at least make sure they’re geographically closer.

Of course, a lot depends on ticket sales. But ultimately, we need to find a middle ground, right? By the end of the season, when you’re a bit worn out, it’s easy to get sick. And lengthy flights aren’t helpful,” Verstappen's remarks were reported by RacingNews365.

The Dutch driver currently leads the drivers' standings with 331 points. Lando Norris of McLaren is in second place with 279 points, and Charles Leclerc from Ferrari is third with 245 points.

The next Grand Prix is set to take place in Austin, USA, starting on October 18.
