Round 11 of the EFL Championship sees two clubs who were playing in the Premier League last season meet — Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Both have had mediocre starts, if not poor ones.
Burnley
That description of a poor start applies above all to Burnley, who only recorded their first win in round nine. But what a win it was — a 4:0 victory over Watford. Their opponents were in 20th place, though, so they thrashed a team in much the same position. Forward Zeki Amdouni picked up an injury in that match, having scored earlier. On the positive side, Dastan Satpaev made his first appearance in over a month — the Kazakhstan international played the final 16 minutes. The forward, on loan from Chelsea, appears not to be fully ready yet, as he was not even on the bench for the 2:2 draw with Charlton Athletic in the following round. Burnley agonisingly missed out on their first home win, conceding in the final minute of stoppage time.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolverhampton Wanderers sit above Burnley in ninth place, but their supporters have plenty to be disappointed about, particularly since the international break. Things have not gone well in October: they first lost 0:1 away to Middlesbrough, then 1:3 to Bolton Wanderers at Molineux. That saw them drop from fourth to ninth. They concede only slightly fewer goals than Burnley: 1.4 compared with 1.9, and over the last two rounds they have actually conceded more.
Burnley vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Prediction
Their last meeting came in the Premier League, in the final round of fixtures, when both clubs' fates had long since been decided. That match at Turf Moor ended in a 1:1 draw. Burnley's attack coming to life and Wolverhampton Wanderers' average of 1.6 goals away from home suggest there will be goals in this match, so we recommend an over 2.5 goals bet.
