Girona are having a challenging season, as the Catalans simply lack the squad depth required to compete in the Champions League. Their upcoming away match against Alaves will not be an easy one. Deportivo Alavés only managed to escape the relegation zone at the end of 2024, but the mid-table team consistently entertains neutral fans with their goal-scoring ability.

The draw against Valencia (2:2) in the last round of December marked Deportivo's fourth consecutive draw, putting them two points ahead of Espanyol in the relegation zone.
