The Chinese player lost the World Open final against Judd Trump (4:10) almost without resistance. Ding is far from his best conditions  when he plays outside China. But it’s different when he performs at home. Despite his family moving to England and him opening a school there, he still relies on the support of the Chinese fans. Bookmakers don’t believe that Ding is capable of winning in Manchester.

Mark Allen beat one of the strongest opponents in this tournament in the previous game, John Higgins (10:7). Higgins can hardly play long games, consisting of many frames, and Allen fully used this factor. This victory should be good for Allen’s mentality. This is why he’s obviously a favourite in this game.
