Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
At the King Power Stadium, the sides have different momentum — Leicester City, stuck in mid-table, and Blackburn Rovers, hovering above the relegation zone. For the hosts this is a chance to end a three-match winless run and get back into the play-off race.
Leicester City
Leicester City are 10th, only two points behind sixth. However, there has been just one win in the last eight matches (five draws, two defeats). At home the team remain unbeaten — two wins and three draws with a 6:3 goal difference. Average home xG — 1.63, and they have conceded no more than one goal in each of their five home matches. Nevertheless, the structure of play remains stable: Leicester City have over 58% possession and average 13 shots per match.
Blackburn Rovers
After the win over Southampton (2:1) Blackburn Rovers moved slightly away from the relegation zone, but their position is still precarious — 21st, only one point above the line. Away from home the visitors are uncertain: three defeats and three matches without scoring out of five this season. Average away xG — 0.84, and defensively they allow 1.6 expected goals per game. Even so, the latest win may add confidence, ending their five-match winless run.
Leicester City vs Blackburn Rovers Prediction
Leicester City are consistent at home and rarely allow many chances. The visitors convert poorly away and cannot keep the tempo of the league’s top clubs. Given the difference in quality and the statistics, we recommend backing Leicester City not to lose, along with over 1.5 goals in the match. The proposed bet has won in eight of their last nine home matches in all competitions.
