The tournament has just started but some results are surprising. However, Mark Williams is the one who is definitely a favourite. He confidently beat Ronnie O’Sullivan in the Tour Championship final (10:5). He also beat Mark Allen (10:5) and Judd Trump (10:4). This is amazing who Mark Williams beat and how he made it.
Si Jiahui
Si Jiahui is obviously a talented player. He is unlucky with the draw in this tournament though. He reached the final of the German Masters in February, yet he was beaten by Judd Trump (5:10). Si is on the way to his triumphs, bet currently he lacks skills and experience to play against the top 10 players. We can believe he can perform in the best way possible but we can’t rely on it.

Mark Williams keeps on being stable. He’s dangerous for any opponent. Mark Williams would win each opening game: in 2018, Jimmy Robertson (10:5); in 2019, Martin Gould (10:7); in 2020, Alan McManus (10:5); in 2021, Sam Craigie (10:4); in 2022, Michael White (10:3); in 2023, Jimmy Robertson (10:5). Mark Williams is obviously a favourite in 2024, too.
