Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
On 7 November in the National Basketball Association there will be only one game. In Arizona, the Phoenix Suns will host the Los Angeles Clippers — neighbours in the standings and direct rivals for the play-offs. It is clear that only a win will suit each side.
Phoenix Suns
As expected, the Phoenix Suns have made a rather muted start to the season, as shown at least by their 3-5 record. The hosts’ offence averages 116.9 points, with 31 of them coming from Devin Booker. Dillon Brooks (19.3) tried to provide some support, but he suffered an injury and will not appear on the court in the near future. Given that in points conceded they rank 23rd (120.3), the squad urgently need to make adjustments.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers are not much better off. Yes, they concede an average of 115.1 points per game (10th), but in offence the visitors have struggled: 111.7 points and 27th place. In addition, in Arizona they will be without two main stars: James Harden and Kawhi Leonard. They play a key role in scoring (47.6 combined).
Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers Prediction
We have two teams going through a poor spell. We do not want to pick a winner; it is better to look at the total points. Given the personnel issues on both sides, the opponents are unlikely to produce high scoring.
