Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Watford
Watford have been working under Javi Gracia for a month, but there has been no major improvement. The team were not poor during the managerial change either. They kept winning most matches at Vicarage Road and continue to do so. Under Gracia they beat West Bromwich Albion (2:1), and they even thrashed second-placed Middlesbrough (3:0). Away from home the picture is different: no wins in three matches. They remain mid-table, 12th.
Bristol City
After three rounds in the play-off zone, Bristol City have dropped out again, affected by a home defeat to Blackburn Rovers (0:1). That was their third home loss in eight. Away from Ashton Gate they had been better — unbeaten in five (3-2-0) — but they returned from the latest trip in disappointment after a heavy defeat to a direct rival, Stoke City (1:5). The opponents’ statistics were not outstanding: only 13 shots with eight on target and 2.01 xGA. Stoke simply converted almost all six big chances they created.
Watford vs Bristol City Prediction
Bristol City are now on a short run of two defeats. Facing Watford, traditionally strong at Vicarage Road, that is a negative sign. Surprises are possible, but the Asian handicap (0) on the hosts looks justified.
