Premier League resumes, Brighton and Man United remain undefeated!

As the Premier League 2019/20 season resumes after its enforced absence, both Brighton and Manchester United have played twice each and both remain undefeated. On Tuesday 30th of June 2020 at 20:15 the two will clash at the Amex stadium. The game will be broadcast live by Sky Sports in the United Kingdom but can be also found on the SkyGo app by international subscribers.

The last time these two met it was in November of last year and Manchester United walked off the pitch 3-1 winners. Since then they have continued to perform well and are currently 6th just 3 points behind Wolves.

Due to Manchester City’s ban, this year 5th may well be good enough for a Champions League spot. Brighton has struggled for consistency this season and before the Covid19 break, they were skirting with the relegation places. Since then a win and draw have earned 4 valuable points to ease the relegation worries but they need more victories still before they are safe.

In terms of the recent form, both teams are on a good run neither being defeated since the restart. Manchester United earned a hard-fought draw away at Spurs and followed up with an impressive 3-0 win at Sheffield United. Their latest game was an FA Cup quarter-final match against Norwich City which they won in extra time. Brighton has been on a good run as well beating Arsenal and also earning a valuable point from a draw with Leicester.

What’s the team news? Brighton's Adam Webster is doubtful with a hamstring injury sustained against Leicester and Shane Duffy could be in contention to start alongside skipper Lewis Dunk at the heart of the defence.

Dunk is, however, one booking away from a two-match suspension. Long-term absentee Jose Izquierdo (knee) remains out. Tariq Lamptey will hope to keep his starting role after an impressive debut from the young right back at the King Power Stadium.

Other than Axel Tuanzebe, United should be at full strength after their extra-time win at Carrow Road, though Daniel James and Maguire are both one yellow away from suspension.

Predicted Lineups:

Brighton: Ryan, Laptey, Duffy, Dunk, Burn, Propper, Bissouma, Mooy, Gross, Trossard, Maupay.

Man United: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Pogba, Matic, Lingard, Fernandes, Rashford, Martial.
