Deadwood R.I.P is styled as a rotten western, where the law has long been buried along with any norms of decency. The reels resemble the walls of a barn, chalk-marked and riddled with bullet holes. The symbols are not just “drawn” — they look like victims: many show traces of torture, bruises, blood, and grimaces of rage. Wins are emphasised by hellish flashes that flood the screen in blood-red colour.
Animations are another story. When the snake symbol wins, it transforms into a squealing pig, which then splits in half to become a wild. Between spins, you get five bullets — you can shoot at the screen. And not just in the background: if you hit character symbols, they reanimate and die again with screams. Unforgettable.
Bonus rounds come with background changes: Redemption Spins take place in a graveyard with crosses and eerie mist, while Salvation spins play out in the same landscape but under an orange sunset.
🎶 Sound
The music in Deadwood R.I.P sounds like the soundtrack to a film’s final scene, where everything is already lost. Dark, drawn-out, with a constant sense of looming failure. Against this backdrop of dread, every element comes alive with its own sound: the snake hisses viciously, the pig squeals as though truly being butchered (which it is).
The gunshots are muffled but forceful — not just atmospheric, but hits to your nervous system. Every action in the slot comes with its own effect: from a symbol crunch to a scream and a juicy bloody splat. Here, sound isn’t an addition — it’s part of the aggression.

Special Symbols
- xNudge Wild: a wild that covers the full reel and always nudges to become fully visible. Each move up or down increases its multiplier by +1. In the base game, multipliers of several such wilds are added together. In bonus modes, they are multiplied. Appears only on the three central reels.
- Diamondback Scatter: Scatter appears only on the three central reels in the base game and triggers the bonus round. If only 2 symbols land, they turn into Reel Split Wilds and split symbols on their reel.
- Hog Me Tight Scatter: appears only on the last reel, both in the base game and in free spins. Together with Diamondback Scatter, it triggers the second bonus mode. Otherwise, it turns into a wild and splits symbols: on reel 1 — only the middle row, on reels 2–4 — both central rows. In the bonus, it is always fixed on reel five until the end.
- RIP Scatter: appears only during bonus modes, adding free spins.
- xSplit Wild: appears only after two Diamondback Scatters and activates on one of the central three reels. It splits itself and all symbols on the reel in half, doubling the number of win ways. If it splits an xNudge Wild, it doubles its multiplier too.
- Quick Draw: if a revolver cylinder lands on reel one, the Quick Draw feature triggers. The reel randomly “fires” 3 to 6 times — depending on the number of bullets in the chamber. Each shot selects a symbol and doubles its multiplier.
- Shootout: if sheriff badges land simultaneously on reels 2 and 4, the Shootout feature activates. All low-paying symbols on the three central reels turn into wilds — for one spin.
- xRIP: if the total win of a spin (in base or bonus) is less than the base stake, the xRIP mechanic activates. In this case, the player gets nothing: even with combinations, the payout is zeroed.
Bonus Game
Deadwood R.I.P has two levels of bonus games — Redemption and Salvation Spins. Both revolve around a global multiplier and wilds with the xNudge mechanic.
Redemption Spins
Triggered by three Diamondback Scatters, the player receives 5 free spins.
- A global win multiplier is active during the bonus: it increases with each xNudge Wild (from x1 to x4) and remains until the end of the round.
- If another xNudge Wild lands during the spins, the current multiplier is multiplied by it.
- If Hog Me Tight Scatter lands on the last reel during Redemption, the bonus upgrades to Salvation Spins, and the total number of free spins increases by one.
- Additionally, landing three RIP Scatters retriggers the bonus and adds another 5 free spins.
Salvation Spins
Triggered by three Diamondback Scatters together with a Hog Me Tight Scatter on reel five. The player gets 6 free spins. The global multiplier, just like in Redemption, increases with every xNudge Wild and remains active until the end. All collected multipliers are multiplied together. Reel five in this mode is always occupied by the Hog Me Tight symbol: it counts as both scatter and wild, and every spin, it splits all symbols in the middle row of the reels to the left. If 3 RIP Scatters land during the bonus, the player receives +6 extra spins.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
The base RTP of the slot is 96.09%, volatility is declared extreme. The maximum win is capped — x100,000 of the stake. When reached, the round ends instantly, and exactly that amount is paid.
Our Verdict
In the base game, Deadwood R.I.P is all about waiting. Spins hardly pay, and if they do, the xRIP mechanic often wipes them out. The only lively moments are with two Diamondback Scatters that turn into Split Wilds, but even they are more about survival than big wins. Once, two xNudge Wilds landed, the multiplier reached x6 — the spin suddenly paid x96 of the stake and pulled the balance out of the hole. But that was more exception than rule. The bonus arrived only on the 299th spin — just as the provider promises. By then, the balance was drained.
Bonus buys are no salvation. Redemption Spins were tested both naturally and via buy: twice, they didn’t even return half. Five spins are too tight — no room for the multiplier to build. Once +5 were added from RIP Scatters, but the total win was only x18 — more dull irony than brutality.
Salvation Spins are a different matter. Yes, they cost like a holiday, but at least there is an illusion of fairness: in one bonus, Shootout triggered with a multiplier that paid x700 in a single spin. The total came out slightly positive. The next gave back only half, the third — more than half. Painful, yes, but not entirely meaningless. And then came x13,900 — we didn’t even notice how it happened. The slot showed what it’s capable of, though it’s still hard to believe.
Lucky Draw is more about self-deception. Both 80/20 and 50/50 twice gave only Redemption — result: tears and a little pain.
As for boosters: the first, with 1 guaranteed scatter, gave nothing at all over 50 spins. The second at least led to one bonus, which paid x120. Formally — fine. In reality, not worth the price.
If you want something similar, try Tombstone R.I.P from the same Nolimit City: the same level of darkness. Or Mental — even harsher, but more unpredictable. And if you’re interested in slots with unusual mechanics but in a lighter, brighter style, look at Tony Gambler. There’s plenty to do without the horror aesthetics and psychosis.
