Design and Theme
🖼️ Graphics
The Tanked screen immediately resembles a tabletop strategy board, only alive and animated. Everything revolves around the grid, which gradually expands and fills with movement, explosions and flashes. The design is intentionally cartoonish but with a dark twist: the field doesn’t look bright or cheerful; instead, it presses down with a sense of constant disorder.
🎶 Sound
The soundtrack in Tanked is built on heavy marching rhythms and mechanical clatter. You constantly hear what feels like engines roaring nearby or metal falling. When boosters activate, sharp bursts join in — explosions, rough alarms, mechanical snaps. Everything sounds gritty and oppressive, without melody, which perfectly reinforces the battlefield vibe, where chaos never stops for a single second.

The game grid here lives its own life: characters move across the grid, collecting stones of “their” colour and picking up boosters. Once movement stops and an explosion triggers, the grid begins to expand. First, the 6x6 square stretches into a rectangle — either 8x6 or 6x8. Then the field grows to 8x8, after which it expands even further to 9x8 or 8x9. And finally, it fills the entire screen in a 9x9 format.
In other words, expansion happens step by step through triggered effects, and each step adds space for new symbols and new chaotic collisions.
Winning Combinations
To understand how to play Tanked, it’s important to grasp the payout principle immediately. There are no lines or ways here — everything works through the xLoot mechanic. A character moves across the grid and collects only the symbols of its own colour. Each such symbol awards a fixed payout based on the stake.

Special Symbols
- Multiplier (green crate): can be collected by any character and applies to all winnings. Values stack to amplify the final payout.
- Rocket booster: the character fires a rocket at the wall next to a random enemy. The explosion hits a section along the edge of the grid, removing the enemy and stones in that area. After this, the field expands by one step.
- Grenade booster: the character throws a grenade at a random enemy, triggering a square-shaped explosion: the centre is the point of impact, and symbols around it are removed vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
- Drill booster: the character with a drill moves towards the largest cluster of stones of its colour. All cells along its straight path are cleared: enemies disappear, stones and wilds are removed, and boosters and multipliers are collected. If movement is impossible, the character explodes and clears a small square around itself.
- Airstrike booster: the character calls an airstrike on three random enemies. Each strike explodes in a cross pattern — vertical and horizontal lines from the point of impact. Symbols and enemies in those lines vanish.
- xBomb: triggers only when there are no movements or boosters left. The explosion removes stones around the point and adds +1 to the global multiplier.
- Barrel Bomb: also explodes when nothing else can move. Removes stones vertically or horizontally from the centre, and the grid expands by one step in that direction.
- Small Boom: if three characters stand next to each other, they explode and clear a small square around themselves, removing enemies and stones.
- Big Boom: if four characters are adjacent, the explosion is stronger — all stones on the grid disappear, and the grid expands by one step.
- Kill Count: each character has three lives. If it enters the blast zone of a booster, bomb or Boom-effect, one life is lost. When the counter reaches zero, the character and all its stones disappear from the field. On the next symbol fall it respawns with a full set of lives.
- xNudge Wild: this wild always “nudges” downward until it meets a non-paying symbol. If it had no multiplier, it starts at x2. Each step down adds +1 to the multiplier. Additional xNudge wilds add another +1 to the global multiplier.
- xSplit: this symbol cuts all paying symbols either horizontally or vertically. Symbols are doubled in size, and the xSplit turns into a wild. If a multiplier is affected, its value is also doubled.
- Scatter (beer mug): triggers bonus modes.
Bonus Game
- Carnage Spins: triggered by three scatters. The player receives 5 spins. Multipliers, the current grid size and the life counter from the base game carry over into the bonus, so the starting point varies depending on what was accumulated.
- Carnage Royale: activated by four scatters and awards 7 spins. Here, the field immediately expands to 9x9, and +5 is added to the current multiplier. The life counter is carried over from the base game.
- Mayhem Spins: triggered if all characters lose their final life simultaneously in a single explosion. The grid instantly expands to 9x9, and an additional +10 is added to the multiplier. Each character is left with only one life, making further explosions extremely likely. This mode can be extended: if all characters die simultaneously again, the player receives +1 extra spin and another +10 to the multiplier.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
RTP — 96.04%. Volatility is high. The maximum win is capped at x25,000 of the stake.
Our Verdict
Tanked turned out to be a rare case where the slot paid off immediately: every purchased bonus returned profit, and the max win hit almost instantly. It feels like the chaos on the grid doesn’t interfere, but instead pushes you to follow every movement of the characters. The mechanic is unusual — no lines and no ways — but that’s exactly what makes it interesting.
The second test session was the complete opposite of the first: the base game hardly paid anything, and the bought bonuses didn’t come close to breaking even.
This slot will appeal to players who enjoy unconventional systems. If you want something just as strange but even more experimental, check out Munchies by Nolimit City — that one replaces symbols with pure multipliers. And if you prefer something simpler and more straightforward, but still with multiple bonus modes, try Razor Returns from Push Gaming.
