🖼️ Graphics
The slot drops you into an alternate version of Paris — not the touristy one, but a gritty back-alley kind where a raccoon with a crowbar roams the streets in search of loot. Visually, it’s a cartoon style with soft outlines, muted colours, and a touch of rogue charm. The reels spin against a backdrop of old facades and garbage bins — dull and grey by day, but lit up with lanterns at night during the bonus round.
The main character is Smoky Le Bandit, a raccoon with a taste for disguise. In the free spins, he shows up in a green leprechaun hat and sideburns. A key visual detail: golden tiles appear beneath winning clusters. Symbols shimmer and explode during cascades, making room for new ones.
🎶 Sound
The background music has a playful, sneaky vibe — like we’re tiptoeing through the early-morning alleys of Paris. Ambient street noise adds subtle atmosphere without distraction. Smoky mumbles to himself now and then, like a raccoon plotting mischief.
Cascading wins trigger quick audio cues, reminiscent of match-3 games like Candy Crush. Rainbows and scatters have their own sound effects — even if they don’t trigger anything, the slot highlights their presence.

Special Symbols
In Le Bandit, cascade wins are just the beginning. After each win, not only does the cluster disappear, but all other matching symbols of that type vanish too. New symbols drop in to fill the gaps, and the tiles underneath the winning ones become golden highlights. These golden tiles stay active until the end of the spin, even through multiple cascades. That’s when the special symbols come into play. Here’s how it works step by step:
- Wild: A wanted poster with Smoky and the caption Wild Reward: Substitutes for any symbols in a cluster and helps complete a win, but doesn’t pay out on its own and doesn’t trigger bonuses.
- Scatter — a polaroid: Can land in any position and triggers the bonus when 3 or more appear. During free spins, it can appear again to extend the session or upgrade the bonus level.
- Golden square: After every winning combination, the tiles beneath the winning symbols light up. They stay in place until the end of the spin and don’t disappear during subsequent cascades. If a rainbow symbol lands on the grid at any point during the same spin, all marked golden squares activate — spawning coins and special symbols.
- Rainbow: Can appear in any position and activates all golden squares on the grid — but only after all wins and cascades from the current spin have completed.
- Coins: Appear only inside activated golden squares. They come in three types — bronze (x0.2, x0.5, x1, x2, x3, x4 of the current bet), silver (x5, x10, x15, x20), and gold (x25, x50, x100, x250, x500). Coin values are summed and added to the total win.
- Clover: Activates after all coins and special symbols have been revealed. It multiplies the value of all adjacent coins and pots by one of the following multipliers: x2, x3, x4, x5, or x10. It only affects tiles connected vertically and horizontally.
- Pot of gold: Activates after all clovers have resolved. It collects the values of all coins and other pots on the grid and stores them as its own value. Pots activate one by one — top to bottom, left to right. After the last pot activates, any remaining golden squares reopen, and the process may repeat if new pots appear. At the end of the spin, all coin and pot values are summed and multiplied by your total bet.
Bonus Game
There are several levels of Le Bandit bonus rounds you can trigger:
- Luck of the Bandit is activated with 3 Scatters and awards 8 free spins. In this mode, the golden squares where the Scatters landed remain between spins until they’re activated by a rainbow. Additional Scatters during the bonus can grant extra spins, and landing 4 Scatters upgrades the bonus to the next level.
- All That Glitters Is Gold is triggered with 4 Scatters and gives 12 free spins. In this mode, golden squares don’t disappear even after being activated — they stay highlighted until the end of the bonus round, greatly increasing the chance of chain activations.
- Treasure at the End of the Rainbow is the top-tier bonus, triggered with 5 Scatters and also grants 12 free spins. Its key difference is that a rainbow is guaranteed to appear on every spin, and bronze coins don’t appear at all in this mode — only silver, gold, and special symbols.
RTP, Volatility, Max Win
The base RTP of Le Bandit is 96.34%. Volatility is rated medium (3 out of 5), although the Bonushunt Featurespins mode has high volatility. The maximum win is capped at x10,000 times your bet — once this is reached, the bonus game ends immediately.
Our Verdict
Le Bandit knows how to slow things down — but it does so with balance. In the base game, most wins are tiny — clusters of five low symbols. Wilds, surprisingly, are rare. But if a rainbow lands after a cluster, you’ve got a decent shot at breaking even. Without it, the slot barely breathes; with it, it comes alive. Rainbows don’t appear often, but when they do, they can deliver x20 or more — so yes, it’s possible to survive long enough to reach the bonus.
The first bonus came naturally — and that alone was enough to recover the entire session. Bonushunt mode proved effective: the bonus hit quickly and paid x200, thanks to one powerful spin with a clover, a pot, and a gold coin. The next bonus was more modest — x23 — but didn’t hurt the balance.
Rainbow Featurespins aren’t about big wins — they’re about consistency. With a rainbow on every spin, you’re getting regular wins, small losses, and if you’re lucky, a tidy profit. We triggered one bonus here, too, and it turned out decent. As for buying the All That Glitters Is Gold bonus, it’s a questionable move. It’s expensive, and without an early rainbow, it tends to drag.
In short, Le Bandit is about patience and sudden bursts. The slot maintains balance, but lives and breathes through the rainbow. Features work fairly, and naturally triggered bonuses are genuinely rewarding. Buying them, though, is something to approach with caution.
If, after Le Bandit you still feel like chasing coins and hoping for a clover, there are places to go. The Le Bandit slots series continues with Le Viking from Hacksaw, featuring the same raccoon, but this time with payouts running on ways. And in Le Pharaoh, you get a different setting with classic paylines, yet the respin and bonus mechanics remain.
