Betting tip
Both teams have started the season slowly in terms of goals, with high-scoring games scarce so far. Across seven league rounds, Arsenal matches have averaged 2.28 goals, while Everton games have produced just 2.14, the joint second-lowest figure in the league. Both teams are comfortably below the three-goal mark per game. That clearly points towards under 2.5 goals here.
Arsenal dominate possession and systematically snuff out opposition attacks well away from their own goal. Across seven rounds, the London side have conceded an average of just 0.71 goals per game, giving them the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League. They are even more disciplined at home: each of their last 10 Premier League matches at Emirates Stadium has produced no more than three goals in total.
Everton also avoid an open exchange of attacks and keep their focus on defending. They also have England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who can rescue the team even from extraordinary shots. The Toffees concede exactly one goal per game and will almost certainly begin in a compact low block to close down space in front of the penalty area. Any favourite would find that resistance difficult to break down.
Arsenal's schedule poses some risks to the bet: this match comes just three days after their trip to Bayern Munich on 21 October. Playing at Allianz Arena is always demanding. Saka Bukayo had to leave the pitch as early as the 10th minute, so his possible absence on 24 October 2026 could also affect the Gunners' goalscoring output. If accumulated fatigue weakens the hosts' concentration, the game could briefly lose its disciplined structure.
Even so, Arsenal's superior quality and organisation should be enough to secure a result without turning the match into a shoot-out. My prediction for this match is under 2.5 goals.
