Why Fenerbahce Are Favourites for the Match

Lyon finished the previous Ligue 1 season in fourth place and earned a route into the Champions League through qualifying. The French domestic league has not yet started for Paulo Fonseca's team, so all of their official match sharpness currently comes from Europe. That is both a plus in terms of freshness and a minus in terms of competitive minutes.
In the previous round, the French side had to correct their own mistake: in Prague they lost to Sparta Prague (1:2), then won at home (3:0) and advanced with an aggregate score of (4:2). In the return leg, Nuamah scored before the opposition sending-off, but the next two goals came after Sparta Prague's red card in the 34th minute. So that thrashing should not be projected directly onto Istanbul.
