KÍ Klaksvik
The second leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League between KI Klaksvik and Polish side Lech Poznan is scheduled to take place in the Faroe Islands on 13 August 2026 at 13:30 EDT / 10:30 PDT.
Lech Poznan won the first game in Poznan, but by a much narrower margin than expected — just 1:0, even though bookmakers had the Poles at odds of around 1.17 to win. Such a modest result leaves the Faroese side with theoretical chances ahead of the home match.
KÍ Klaksvík have already lost to Kauno Žalgiris (0:1 on aggregate) in Champions League qualifying this European season, and they created virtually nothing in front of goal against Lech Poznan in Poznan. Home advantage in the Faroe Islands is a particular factor, but the gap in quality between the Polish champions and the Faroese club is too great.
Lech Poznan are the reigning Polish champions, with last season's title their second in a row and the 10th in the club's history. The team are in good form (six wins, three draws and just one defeat in their last 10 matches, with an overall goal difference of 20:11), but their Champions League dream was ended by a dramatic penalty shoot-out defeat to Aarhus GF. However, this has not affected their motivation at all: 19 shots against KÍ Klaksvík speak for themselves.
Importantly, the home match was not an easy stroll for Lech Poznan. They are now likely to play to protect the scoreline and slow the game down. In that case, we should not expect a high-scoring match. A clear example is KÍ Klaksvík's match against Kauno Žalgiris in the Faroe Islands, which ended goalless.
