Lech
The first leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League between Lech Poznan and KI Klaksvik is scheduled for 6 August 2026 at 18:00 BST at Stadion Poznan in Poland.
Just a week ago, both teams were fighting for the right to play in the Champions League, but they slipped up at the same time. That certainly will not affect their motivation, though, as reaching any European competition would be a real celebration for the fans.
Ahead of the decisive qualifying matches, Lech Poznan have strengthened their squad in targeted fashion. In addition to buying Luis Palma outright (16 goal involvements last season), they managed to sign defender Terry Yegbe, who has experience of playing in France's Ligue 1. For now, though, Allahyar Sayyadmanesh has been the most encouraging performer. The Iranian forward has already scored in his second start for the Polish side.
KI Klaksvik look clear underdogs in this tie, especially in the match in Poland. In the Champions League, they had nothing to offer against Kauno Zalgiris, and away from home they managed just one shot on target in 90 minutes. It is also worth remembering that the Faroese Premier Division is currently in full swing, so KI Klaksvik are already seriously worn down and are unlikely to be able to maintain maximum intensity throughout the game.
The hosts look clear favourites in this tie, and that is no surprise — the gap in class is too big. Lech Poznan will try to settle everything at home to avoid unnecessary nerves away. In that case, we can confidently back them to win heavily.
