Bet on the match
Omonia are the reigning Cypriot champions and, on paper, are significantly stronger than their opponents in every position. However, the Cypriots have already had some setbacks in this campaign: first, an unexpected elimination by Kazakhstan's Kairat in the Champions League, then a squandered victory in Gibraltar. At home, they must put things right, especially as first-choice forward Andronikos Kakoullis will return from suspension.
Lincoln produced a spirited performance in the first leg — defender Christian Rutjens put the hosts ahead from Facundo Alvarez's assist, and only injury time denied the Gibraltarians a historic result. However, away matches against teams of this level are a completely different matter, and the gap in quality usually tells over two legs. The statistics also make it clear that Lincoln were, to put it mildly, fortunate: they had six shots to their opponents' 17.
Given their status as clear favourites and home advantage, Omonia will secure progression to the next round. It is unlikely that Lincoln will offer any resistance whatsoever.
