Saint-Gilloise
The first leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round between Union Saint-Gilloise and Bodø/Glimt will take place at Albert Park in Ostend. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 August 2026 at 19:00 BST.
Both clubs come into the game as the current second-placed sides in their leagues, but recent form is clearly on the visitors' side — the Norwegians are currently top of the Eliteserien outright and have won seven matches in a row.
Union Saint-Gilloise finished second in the Belgian league last season and, before the start of their European campaign, won the Belgian Super Cup on penalties against Club Brugge after a goalless draw in normal and extra time. The club have traditionally focused on young talent from around the world, but in the summer they lost first-choice goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen, who moved to the Premier League — they have not managed to find a direct replacement for him.
Bodø/Glimt, meanwhile, come into the game in ideal form — top of the Norwegian league and on a run of seven straight wins, including a convincing success over Lillestrøm (4:0). The Norwegians regularly make their presence felt in European competition with their bright attacking football and have more than once upset high-profile opponents at this stage of the tournament.
Given the visitors' impressive winning run and the hosts' personnel losses in defence, there is little reason to expect a closed game — both teams are more likely to play with freedom and catch each other out on mistakes.
