Betting tip
Bookmakers offer generous odds of 2.57 on Czech Republic to score, and a goal for the visitors looks a realistic prospect at that price. For the bet to land, the Czechs need only make the most of a set piece or a quick counterattack.
Under Luis de la Fuente, Spain usually take the initiative, but they rarely shut games down and allow opponents chances. Nine of Spain’s last 10 UEFA Nations League matches have produced over 2.5 goals, with the teams regularly combining for at least three. During sustained attacks, Spain often leave space behind for opponents to exploit. That was the case in their successful matches against England (3:2) and Croatia (4:1).
Czech Republic have maintained their attacking threat and consistently found ways to trouble opponents over a longer run of matches. They scored in 8 of their previous 10 matches across all competitions, and every one of those 10 games produced over 1.5 goals.
The visitors’ main obstacle will be Spain’s control of possession. Spain’s home record in the UEFA Nations League is impressive: in 9 of 10 matches, they allowed opponents no more than 13 shots, including blocked efforts. That suggests the Czechs will have few scoring chances.
Even with few opportunities to get into the box, though, the visitors are capable of finding the target once.
