The second leg of the Europa League third qualifying round between Romania's Universitatea Craiova and Finland's KuPS will take place in Craiova 13 August 2026 at 18:00 BST.
The Romanians won the first leg away in Kuopio thanks to a Stefan Baiaram goal in the 38th minute — 1:0. Both teams reached this round after setbacks in Champions League qualifying, so a place in the next round of the Europa League is now a step towards reaching the league phase of the tournament for them.
Universitatea Craiova are the reigning Romanian champions and have made a confident start to the new SuperLiga season, taking six points from their first three matches. The Romanian club look stronger than their opponents on paper and have already demonstrated this away from home, adding a convincing 4:1 win over Belarusian side ML Vitebsk in an earlier round.
KuPS, meanwhile, are comfortably leading the Finnish league (39 points after 18 matches, five points clear of Inter Turku), but they have been noticeably weaker in European competition: they lost 0:3 on aggregate to Azerbaijani side Sabah in Champions League qualifying, while both of their home matches in this season's European campaign have ended in defeats in normal time.
Given their first-leg advantage, home advantage and the Finns' clear problems specifically in European matches, Universitatea will see the job through and reach the next round.
