On 16 July, the second leg of the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round between Yelimay Semey (Kazakhstan) and Alashkert Yerevan FC (Armenia) will take place at the Spartak Stadium in Semey. The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 BST.

The first game in Yerevan was genuinely dramatic: Yelimay Semey, for whom it was the first European match in the club's history, led during the match but let victory slip late on — 1:1. Notably, immediately after Alashkert Yerevan FC's goal, the lights went out at the stadium and the match had to be suspended for several minutes. The fate of the place in the next round will now be decided at the Kazakh side's home ground.

In the first meeting, Yelimay Semey went in front through Arsen Ashirbek in the 60th minute, but in the 86th minute the Armenian club equalised — Davit Terteryan turned in Karen Nalbandyan's corner. During the match, the Semey side attacked actively and created several dangerous moments (12 shots).

There is also important context in terms of match sharpness: for Alashkert Yerevan FC, that match was their first competitive game of the season, as the Armenian championship had not yet started, while Yelimay Semey came into the game in the middle of the Kazakhstan Premier League season and on a run of two wins over Kyzyl-Zhar (2:0 and 1:0). By the second leg, that gap in match rhythm for the Armenian team should have narrowed, which could give the visitors more cutting edge in attack.
