Former U.S. President Calls on NBA to Revamp the All-Star Game
44th U.S. President Barack Obama has urged the NBA to reform the format of its All-Star Game.
"The All-Star Game has failed. Players just enjoy not running, trying out different shots. Think back to the past, when Kobe, Michael, and Isiah would take the court. They tested who was the real man. They wanted to win and worked hard for it.
What's happening now disrespects the game. Fix it, NBA! You clearly don't want people thinking poorly of you, so take it more seriously. The in-season tournament has been better than I expected, but I won't watch an All-Star Game like this," Obama was quoted as saying by Fadeaway World.
The 2024 NBA All-Star Game, held on February 18, drew just 5.5 million viewers. The game followed the classic "East vs. West" format, with the Eastern Conference team winning 211-186.
